After 4 more hours, 100 doubles so now we are at 200.

After 4 more hours, 200 doubles so now we are at 400

there is 3 groups of 4 in 12, so 50 x 2 = 100, that's once, 100 x 2 is 200. 200 x 2 is 400, so there's 400 pounds.
