In this poem, the poet combines the three words "Jack and Diane" to make one long word "jackanddiane." Use your imagination! Why do you think the poet chose to write the words in this way?

I think it is so he can add his own kind of unique silliness to the story ( sorry, let me turn my everything off. )

I think he wanted to add his own signature to the poem to make the poem more fun, similar to Lewis Carroll's poems in Through The Looking Glass.
