How can you open your business but stay on good terms with your past employer ?

Keep in touch with your old employer after you leave and make sure that you show respect (You should not discuss your new venture with the company's clients, suppliers, and other employees other than your co-founders until you have officially left).

One of the best things about leaving on good terms is that you can ask them for assistance. They may be able to provide you with references, refer you to clients, or provide you with favorable vendor terms.
