What is Marketing Information System?

Marketing Information System (MIS) is a powerful tool which is used by the management to take timely and effective decisions by using the well structured information and analysis from MIS.

A marketing information system can support decision making at various levels; strategic, control, and operational. Usually a MIS is composed of four key components; internal reporting, marketing research, marketing intelligence, and marketing models.

Why it matters?

MIS converts the raw information into a more understandable form which helps management towards better insights therefore, allowing them to use information to validate actionable customer insights.

A MIS contains marketing data from the customers and from many other sources which helps management to identify marketing patterns and trends and based on these results they can initiate marketing campaigns to tackle the market.
