- 1/4 (2x + 5y)
Explanation:
Divide
each term by - 1/4 first
-1/2x ÷ (- 1/4) = 1/2x × 4 = 2x
-5/4y ÷ (- 1/4) = 5/4y × 4 = 5y
Now
facor out
- 1/4
- 1/2x - 5/4y =
- 1/4 (2x + 5y)
