Answer: For example, suppose we use 2 as a subsitute for x,

If
(2)/(2) =1

Then
(2^1)/(2^1)=1

2^(1-1) =1

2^(0)=1

Therefore any number or pronumeral, (including x) to the power of 0 equals 1.
