The Anti-Federalists rejected the term, "Anti-Federalists", attributed to their political position that Federalists were a threat to individual rights and only an encouragment for dictatorship, making the president king. It was a movement of the 18th century headed by Patrick Henry , and against the revision of the Articles of confederation that gave states more power than the central government. Anti federalists in fact argued that they were the true federalists.
