First since we only know the slope and the point it'll need to be in y=mx+b form, so 2 is the slope so so far we have the slope and now we need the y-intercept, solving for b: b=8-(2)(5). b=-2. The equation of the line that passes through the point (5,8) with a slope of 2 is y=2x-2.
