x = 65

Solution:

In the given diagram is a right angled triangle.

Base of the triangle = 56

Height of the triangle = 33

Hypotenuse = x

To find the hypotenuse of the given triangle.

By the Pythagoras theorem,

Hypotenuse ^(2)= Base ^(2)+ Height ^(2)

x^2=56^2+33^2

x^2=3136+1089

x^2=4225

Taking square root on both sides of the equation, we get

\sqrt {x^2}=\sqrt {65^(2)}

x=65

Hence x = 65.
