Mark out the hypotenuse (opposite right angle) the opposite (6) and the adjacent (12)

Mark of the Hypotenuse as there is nothing there. This would mean you are using Tangent

Using Tan^-1 (X) = Opposite/Adjacent

You get the answer so the calculation would be Tan^-1 = 6/12
