Answer:

The main idea of the U.S. census source is that voting is a major prerogative and obligation. It is not only our power and responsibility to our country but our route and means of “maintaining and improving the country's system of elections”.

The evidence I found to buttress my claim is,” Voting is one of our greatest basic national obligations and essential civic opportunities. If free and fair elections is found lacking American democracy would be at jeopardy.
