The poem caged bird is about the life of a person of color in the time the poet Maya Angelou was growing up.Maya was born in 1928 in St.Louis Missouri.Maya Angelou was a poet and a civil rights activists.

Instead of Maya, use Angelou.

Use the pronoun "she" to avoid repetition.

You also need a space between a period and the next sentence.
