Xylem and phloem are the vascular tissues present in plants. The phloem tissues are involved in the transfer of food from the leaves to all part of the plant. The xylem tissue is responsible for transferring water from the roots to all parts of the plants. The dermis of the under lying side of leaves contain abundant number of stomata for the loss of water. As the water is lost, a tension is generated in the xylem tissue which causes more water to be drawn from the roots. As a result, more water keeps on losing due to transcription.
