Explanation:Urban sprawl refers to expanding the city outwardly because there is enough surrounding area , it is buildings on the ground. This method is much easier and least expensive and it has a way of limiting overcrowding situations.

The opposite of extending outwardly is extending upwardly and that is upward growth , when buildings are extended by adding more room on top of the other until we have tallest buildings , and this is mostly common in crowded cities where there is no space to extend outwardly like cities in Japan.
