the community food bank has 750 meals to distribute over a 12-hour period. they need to save at least 50 of the meals for the volunteers. how many people can be served by the food bank in 10 hours, not including the volunteers

Since we must save 50 meals for volunteers, the real amount we are giving away is 700 meals in 12 hours.

700/12 = 58.3333...

10*58.333.. = 583.333....

Since we can't serve 1/3 of a person, we take 583.
