The sum of the sides of two squares is 80 meters. Also the sum of the areas of these

two squares is 3400 square meters. Find the side of each square. Also find the
difference between the perimeters of these squares.

x2+y2 = 625

The difference between the side lengths is a quarter of the difference in perimeters, x>y, so

x−y = 5

x2+(x−5)2 = 625
