People in the United states were suffering a lot because of the effects of the Great Depression: unemployment, lost homes due to mortgages, homelessness, precariousness. For F.D. Roosevelt it was inevitable to start with social programs and with policies that could help the economy recover. In the mid-run and in the long run, Roosevelt´s policies were succesful, they helped alleviate people in need.
