Answer: 19th-century Mexican politican. One of the crucial figures of Mexican liberalism, sometimes considered "executor" of Maximilian of Habsburg.

Explanation: At the beginning of 1860s there was a serious political conflict between conservatives (general Miramón) and liberals (liberal president Benito Juarez). What was at stake was national debt. Mexico was seriously indebted to Britain, France and Spain. The situation resulted in invasion of all three armies led by France (Napoleon III). French intended to proclaim monarchy there and Napoleon III offered Mexican crown to younger brother of Francis Joseph (Austrian emperor), Maximilian and Austrian pretedent accepted. Mexican empire lasted few years. When French withdrew their army it was Juarez who became head of opposition. Maximilian was executed and Mexican republic restored.
