The relationship between energy E possessed by an object of mass m kg travelling with speed of v m/s is given by the formula E =1/2 mv².

Express m in terms of E and v and find the mass of an object whose energy and speed are 1800 joules and 25 m/s,respectively?

Answer:

m = 5.76 Kg

Explanation:

Given

E =
(1)/(2) mv²

Multiply both sides by 2 to clear the fraction

2E = mv² ( divide both sides by v² )

(2E)/(v^(2) ) = m

When E = 1800 and v = 25, then

m =
(2(1800))/(25^(2) ) =
(3600)/(625) = 5.76 Kg
