X1 + 5(9/7) = 7 x1 = 7 - 45/7 x1 = 4/7 - This is the answer to a problem, however, I don't under the math on how 7 - 45/7 resulted in x1 = 4/7. Not good with fractions, please help?

Answer:

x_1= (4)/(7)

Explanation:

Given:

x_1+5 ((9)/(7)) =7

We will solve this to find the value of
x_1

Solution:

By using PEDMAS we solve for parenthesis first we get;

x_1+(5*9)/(7)=7\\\\x_1+(45)/(7)=7

Now we will separate variable term and constant term.

Subtracting both side by
(45)/(7) we get;

x_1+(45)/(7)-(45)/(7)=7-(45)/(7)\\\\x_1=7-(45)/(7)

Now to solve the decimal term and fraction term will make the decimal term into fraction term by dividing and multiplying the term which is in denominator of the fraction term.

So we will multiply and divide by 7 we get;

x_1=(7*7)/(7)-(45)/(7)\\\\x_1=(49)/(7)-(45)/(7)

Now the denominators of the fraction are same so we can solve the by making it into one denominator.

x_1=(49-45)/(7)\\\\x_1=(4)/(7)

Hence the value
x_1= (4)/(7).
