During the Radical Reconstruction in 1867, blacks got power to voice their opinion in the government and they also won the election to "Southern State Legislatures" and even to the "Congress" in U.S. They gained support from the black as they were given right to vote. Also, former slaves freed by them supported Radical Republicans. President Johnson vetoed their bill of Reconstruction as he was not happy with their growing power.
