the area (A) of a circle is calculated as

A = πr² ( r is the radius )

given A = 314 , then

πr² = 314 , that is

3.14r² = 314 ( divide both sides by 3.14 )

r² =
(314)/(3.14) = 100 ( take square root of both sides )

√(100) = 10

then

diameter d = 2r = 2 × 10 = 20 feet
