Besides tourism and shelter, it provides many essential minerals and plenty of sea life which can make up for a proper ecosystem and that can impact many things around it like vegetation and the acidity level. It also has more than 20% of all freshwater and can be a great source of electricity from hydroelectric means. It can also serve a great deal of the drinking water we have in homes around southern Canada and the Northern areas of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota.
