A boundary is where two plates meet. The plates can move against each other, away from each other, or slide past each other. Convergent, Divergent, and transform.

Answer: A boundary occurs where two tectonic plates are close to each other. Divergent: extensional; the plates move apart. Spreading ridges, basin-range. Convergent: compressional; plates move toward each other.
