Specialization of labor, or division of labor serves to the economy of scale, in which an increase in productivity reduces the average cost of product production. That makes the product less expensive, or cheaper. When workers are focused on one one task they tend to master it quicker than having to handle a lot of tasks at the same time, and thus they become more efficient.
