or

1. The Double Helix unzips (into two halves) and the enzymes break apart of the hydrogen bonds between the bases.

2. DNA polymerase moves along the strands and adds free floating nucleotides to the nitrogen bases accorinding to base pairing rules

3. Two new double helixes are formed
