The number of customers regularly visiting a new

restaurant has grown exponentially at a rate of 12%
per year since the restaurant opened. The function
F(x) = 50(1.12)^x represents the total number of
regular customers x years after its opening.
Approximately how many customers does the
restaurant have now, 3 years later?

Answer: About 70 customers.

Work Shown:

F(x) = 50(1.12)^x

F(3) = 50(1.12)^3

F(3) = 50(1.404928)

F(3) = 70.2464

This rounds to 70 when rounding to the nearest whole number.
