Lina is going to plant 63 tomato plants and 81 rhubarb plants. Lina would like to plant ,the plants in rows where each row has the same number of tomato plants and each row has the same number of rhubarb plants. What is the greatest number of rows Lina can plant?

Answer: 9

Explanation:

Given : Lina is going to plant 63 tomato plants and 81 rhubarb plants.

i.e. Total tomato plants = 63

Total rhubarb plants. =81

If Lina would like to plant , the plants in rows where each row has the same number of tomato plants and each row has the same number of rhubarb plants.

Then, the greatest number of rows Lina can plant = Greatest common factor of 63 and 81.

Prime factorization of 63 and 81:


63=3*3*7\\\\ 81=3*3*3*3

Greatest common factor of 63 and 81 =
3*3=9

So , the greatest number of rows Lina can plant= 9
