The Cenozoic Era means new life. This era is also known as the age of mammals. This era is known as the age of mammals because mammals greatly dominated the Earth during this era. Most large mammals came into occurrence during this era. In this era, large mammals evolved and diversified the Earth. Many other groups became extinct due to which population of the mammals increased rapidly during this time.
