Answer:

Therefore,

x=-2\\\\y=8

Explanation:

Given:

x+2y=14 .............( 1 )

-x+3y=26 .............( 2 )

Solve by Equal Values Method

To Find:

x =?

y = ?

Solution:

-x+3y=26 .............( 2 )

-x+3y=26\\\\\therefore x=3y-26

Substitute 'x' in Equation ( 1 ) we get

3y-26+2y=14\\5y=14+26=40\\\therefore y=(40)/(5)=8\\\therefore y=8

Now Substitute 'y' in Equation ( 1 ) we get

x+2* 8=14\\\therefore x=14-16=-2\\\therefore x=-2

Therefore,

x=-2\\\\y=8
