(M)/(J)=(4)/(3) (1)

In addition, we are told Julia collected 36 tickets:


J=36 (2)

Substituting (2) in (1):


(M)/(36)=(4)/(3) (3)

Isolating
M:


M=48 (4)

Adding Mark's tickets to Julia's:


M+J=48+36=84

Therefore, both collected 84 tickets.
