The US may not face any consequences and it is happening in real-time so we do not know for sure what Iran will do. However, we can guess that Iran may try to carry out an attack on the US similar to 9/11 or target the president/other government officials since that is what they said. Instead of attacking the people of America, they’d rather attack higher-ups. It could also mess up trade lol. Hope this helps
