(-7,10) to (-1,2.5):

Rise = (2.5 - 10) = -7.5

Run = (-1 - (-7)) = 6

Slope (Rise/Run) = -7.5/6 = -1.25

(-1,2.5) to (9,-10):

Rise = (-10 - 2.5) = -12.5

Run = (9 - (-1)) = 10

Slope = (-12.5/10) = -1.25

The slopes are the same, so it is a straight line.
