It took Mr. Jefferson 20 minutes to ride the 5-mile path along the lake at a constant speed on his bike. Which equation below could be used to determine the number of miles, x, Mr. Jefferson could ride in 12 minutes at that same constant speed?

Part A. 4x

Part B. Mr. Jefferson could ride 3 miles in 12 minutes

Explanation:

Part A. 4 being the time it takes him to travel 1 mile and x being the number of miles rode.

Part B. To find the time it took him to travel each mile I divided 20 by 5 which gave me four. Then to find the miles he could ride in 12 minutes I divided 12 from 4 which gave me three, stating that he could travel 3 miles in 12 minutes.
