Why the body needs more water after exercising/performing rigorous activity

Answer:

Because as the body exercises or does rigorous activity, water is lost from the body in form of sweat and so its osmotic pressure increases because ions concentration has increased compared to water and so the need to drink more water in order to reduce the osmotic pressure
