Due to the German Invasion of Belgium, the United States considered entering the War. However, upon the sinking of several U.S ships by the Germans that included the use of restricted weapons, Woodrow Wilson decided to further bring the U.S into the War. The U.S provided food, arms, and troops.

The U.S. entered World War I because Germany embarked on a deadly gamble. Germany sank many American merchant ships around the British Isles which prompted the American entry into the war.
