Benji is creating a painting. He has 3/4 of a tube of red paint and 5/12 of a tube of blue paint. He plans to mix what’s left in both tubes to make a purple color. How much of the purple paint will he have?

Step by step solution:
3/4*3/3=9/12 -making common denominator
5/12+9/12=14/12 -setting up equation and solving
