What happens when light from the sun interacts with the molecules of the atmosphere?

The wavelength of light is inversely proportional to the intensity of light.....
So when the light from sun reaches to the earth surface it suffers refraction and get scattered....
but for scattering wavelength of light coming from sun must be less for scattering........
