Jonathan is buying 1-gallon of cans of paint to paint a room. The information on the paint can says that a gallon of paint can cover 400 square feet. The room's walls are 688 square feet combined. How many 1-gallon cans of paint does he need to buy to put 2 coast of paint on the walls?

Ok so one gallon is 400 and you want to cover 688 x 2
688 x 2 is 1376. Now you divide 1376 by 400.
You now know that to paint the walls with two coats of paint will cost you four cans of paint.
