first, acknowledge what the counterclaim is saying. you can do so with a sentence like:
Skeptics of ____(your argument) claim ____(what they say abt your argument); however, these arguments are weak because ____.
you can either agree with the counterclaim or not, but you should then give new evidence that downplays or weakens their argument
