Bob Green is an 83-year-old man with a history of falls. He is weak and unsteady on his feet. He has a walker that he uses on a limited basis. Mostly, he is confined to this bed and wheelchair. Bob weighs 185 pounds, has a urinary catheter and is currently running temperature, and has a cold. How would you use principles of good body mechanics to help Mr. Green from his bed to his wheelchair while keeping yourself and Mr. Green safe from injury? What assistive devices, if any would you use and how?
