3. the other side contains the x value. It can have any number as the slope which is in front of x.

4. The value of the number by itself which is not connected to x or y can also be any value including the irrational numbers.

Examples

y = 5x + 4

slope = 5

y intercept = 4

y = πx + sqrt(5)

slope = pi

y intercept = sqrt(5)
