In 20 years Lillian will be three years older than twice her current age. Set up an equation that

can be used to solve for x, Lillian's current age.

Answer:

ok so x is her currect age y is her age in 20 years

2x+6=y

x+20=y

that means that both sides are equal

2x+6=x+20

-6

2x=x+14

-x

x=14

so her currect age is 14 and lets plug in

14+20=34

her currect age is 14 and her age in 20 years is 34
