The effect of osmosis on animal cells ?

The cell wall in a plant provides the cell extra support and protection that the animal cell does not get.
When too much water leaves a cell, a plant cell is able to stay the same size, but a animal cell (that does not have a cell wall) will shrink and shrivel.
When too much water enters the cell, a plant cell will swell, but an animal cell could burst ( also called lysed.)
