The Cost C (in dollars) of making n watches is represented by C=15n+85. How many watches are made when the cost is $385?

The number of watches made is 8

Explanation:

SO the equation is C=15n+85 where C is the total cost and N is the amount of watches

1)plug in C

385=15n+85

2)move 85 to the other side so it would become -85

385=15n+85 → 385-85=15n → 100=15n

3)divide 15 from both sides

100/15=15n/15 → 25/3=n

since the number of watches can't be a fraction, we round to the lowest number which is 8(24/3)
