Mrs. Green plants 50 red, pink, and purple tulips. If 35% are red and 27% are pink. how many purple tulips did she plant?

You can do this by adding the percent values given (62%) then by multiplying 0.62 by 50 which will give you the number of red and pink tulips (31). Then subtract 31 from 50 which will give you 19 purple tulips.
