The length of a rectangle is twice its width.

If the perimeter of the rectangle is 42 m, find its length and width.

Assume that the width is W metre, then the length L is 2W metre.

We have 2W + 2x(2W) = 42

solve for W, we get W= 7 metre, then L = 2W = 14 metre.

Area = WxL = 7x14 = 98 metre²
