In terms of attractive forces, explain why LiClhas a higher melting point than SCI2.​

Answer:

Well, SCl2 is known, so is disulfur dichloride… Cl−S−S−Cl …and BOTH these species are molecular… On the other hand, lithium chloride, an ionic salt, is decidedly non-molecular, and consists of an infinite array of lithium and chloride ions held together by strong electrostatic forces ….. and thus we would expect the salt to have the much higher melting point….
