How do you write a expression using fractions? When you have to convert the whole numbers into fractions first? Then how would u solve with division? I ran into this problem in some of my school i would like to know how to solve things like this in future

When you are multiplying or dividing a fraction you need another fraction.

so if you have a whole number you need to make it into a fraction so both numbers have a numerator and a denominator.

For example , to multiply 5 by 1/2 would not allow both numbers to have a numerator and denominator so therefore we write 5 as 5/1.

so it would be 5/1 x 1/2

I think this could be helpful for the 1st question, any whole number (also known as an integer) can be converted into an equivalent fraction by multiplying it by n/n, where n is any number other than 0 (and the same number on top and bottom)… because any number divided by itself (n/n) is one, and any number x times one is still x: x * (5/5) = 5x/5 = 1x/1 = x. (use any number instead of 5 for n, the result is the same; n/n always is just another way of writing 1.
