At a farm the ratio of cows to horses was 8 : 3. If there were 24 cows at the farm, how many horses were there?

9 Horses or 24:9

Since there are 24 cows we can do 24/8 and get 3. Then multiply the amount of horses by 3.

3(3) = 9.

Therefore there would be 9 horses.
